2010 RX 450h Automatic High Beams
I was driving the other night with my headlights set to the "Auto" position and the lever pushed forward. I was on a dark road and noticed that my high beams weren't on and the "Auto" indicator on the instrument panel wasn't lit. I turned the lever to the "On" position and my high beams turned on. Is this a possible relay problem with the automatic high beams?

The "Auto" indicator should come on. However, the light should flash if there is a problem with the auto high beam system. How fast were you going at the time, the auto high beam has a minimum speed. I'm not sure if below that speed the system will turn off (ie no "auto" symbol on dashboard) or it simply does not engage the high beams. Have you been able to make it work before? It is a dealer customized option to shut off this feature, was the vehicle previously owned? If so, maybe previous owner had it disabled.

Auto High beams work when the left steering wheel stalk is pushed forward and
you are alone on a dark road above 15 MPH. Slow down in your neighborhood?
Approach another car? Low Beam You can always pull to activate Flash to Pass.
While the newer RX's have the sensor mounted flush to the windshield the 2010
had a small (dash cam sized) pod hanging down in front of the mirror. I have seen
folks mount Tollway Transponders right on the glass in front and complain that the
high beams do not work right...

It was the newly posted transponder that was the culprit. I didn't put two and two together, but looking back, the problem started when I stuck the E-Z Pass on the windshield. Thanks!

Great, glad that worked out. Couple other tricks to try with your RX, press and hold
the "unlock" button on your remote...all windows and the sunroof will open to vent a
hot car! Slip the mechanical key out of the fob, turn CCW in the driver's door lock
cylinder...any and all open windows & sunroof will close!
Have you found the hidden pocket under the armrest basket? USB and a couple of
12v dc plugs down there...and...enough room toward the front to stash the entire
owner's manual! You can always find the OM online at www.lexusdrivers.com under
resources/manuals.
