I have a 2015 RX350. I am hearing a slight whining noise from transmission or power steering when accelerating from a stop. You can only her it with the windows down and radio off. Is this a normal sound of RX350. Transmission and power steering is full.
I have the same noise with my 2014 and it comes from the transmission. Did you ever take your RX to the dealer about the noise?

You have electric power steering. How did you check that it was full? There is no fluid to check.
To check if transmission is full requires a complicated temperature flow test that really only a dealer can do. There is no dipstick.
However, the noise is probably normal.

no, but it only happens when I turn the wheel even when the car is idling. Originally Posted by motorhed

Well, electric PS does make a faint electric motor noise being electric. I'd not call it whining, but it surely sounds like electric motor.
