Default levinson stereo? or stereo?

newbie here so forgive my ignorance, please. On 3rd gen models with mark levinson stereo, does it always say 'mark levinson' on the climate/radio faceplate? if not, is there a way to tell if you have it?how does the regular radio compare? thankyou.

It will state Mark Levinson in an easy to see location. It is not a common option.

It's located left on mine close to the volume ****, listening to radio stations won't make any difference but Cd's or non compressed Bluetooth audio streaming sounds great due 15 speakers system.

thanks guys. as i said i'm new. it just seemed odd to me that i would find a fully optioned RX and there would be no 'levinson' designation. i guess it truly is an uncommon option. does that mean that the 'normal, regular' stereo is very good?

The normal sound system is not bad but not great. If you have Navigation then you have the upgraded system. There are audio controls for bass, midrange and treble that you access through the Navigation screen using the mouse clicker, same with other vehicle personal settings. Some have found that boosting the midrange does make music sound better. I suggest you test out different settings to find what you like best.

7.1 DTS /DVD-A decoding is where Mark Levinson shine if you are audiophile person.

"Upgraded system" = Mark Levinson system? Or you meant upgraded system is one above the standard system and below the Mark Levinson system?

No, the upgrade that comes with the navigation package. Not the 15 speaker system.

Finding a ML unit is harder than needle in a haystack...I tried and gave up. They are just not out there...unless you get super lucky. ML is common on the LS, not the RX unfortunately.

I posted a thread about this in RC

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rc-...-speakers.html

If you want the best sound, you go aftermarket.
