2014RX - Lane Change Auto Blinker
Hey - I know its included on the 2015 RX's but does anyone one how we can enable/add the lane change blinker (click once and the blinker flashes 3 times) on the 2014RX? Would love this feature - I feel like its a quick plug and play relay but could be wrong.
Any direction would be helpful!
Thanks guys!

Did not think that was a change to the 2015 MY.

EDIT: My bad. Found a post from BertL. It was new to LPS for MY 2015.

I have a 15 and can customize the number of times the auto turn signal blinks. It can be set to blink either 3, 5, 7, 9 or 11 times.
Is it possible that previous to 2015 this is something that the dealer needed to program for you through the LPS. Check with your dealer, maybe they can assist you.

The 2010-2014 RX does not have this feature. It was added to the RX for 2015.
If you'd like to add the feature, you will need to grab something like the TapTurn and replace the flasher. Alternatively you could swap in the body ECU from a 2015, but there may be other consequences of doing that.
Part numbers for 2015 body ECU:
89221-0E380 - Canada-made for USA vehicles
89221-0E390 - Canada-made for Canadian vehicles
89220-48W00 - Japan-made for USA vehicles
89220-48W30 - Japan-made for Canadian vehicles
For other countries, you'd need to look into it further.

It is only a feature added in 2015. There is a device called a TapTurn. it replaces your signal flasher in the dash. I put one in my 2013 three years ago. works perfectly. Only twice it stopped working. I did a factory reset (included in the instructions) and it came right back. It costs about $80. It will also allow you to put LED bulbs in your turn signal. (which I have) they can be found at http://www.autowindow.com
There are 2 hidden screws to remove the dash piece you need to replace the flasher. I posted a link to a video instruction about it o another post.

I drove a 2012 chevy work van that had it.
Very confusing at first, kept trying to stop it and had the blinker going from left to right down the road.
Our '15 has it and I use.
Now when I drive a vehicle that doesn't do it, my lane changes are one blink.

Lexus started implementing it in 2010 on the LS and slowly rolled it out in other various models over the following few years. I believe by 2016 pretty much all the models had it.

I know that the 2015 RX's have them because I test drove one and noticed it-- I'm wondering if it is the turn signal module or a software thing. I looked up the part number for the module for both the 2014 and the 2015-- they are both identical, so I think it is a software thing.
The flasher is the same for 2010-2015, what is different is the body ECU. (In the dash, LH side). The turn signal switch feeds signals into the body ECU which feeds into the flasher. You are correct, the body ECU programming was updated for 2015 models.

Is there any way to program the ECU for the 3 flash lane change?
