Default PLUS1RX Build Thread

Here is a build thread pictorial documenting the Build of this vehicle from installation of the Air Suspension in this vehicle to conversion of the front end, etc.

I thought I start one even though this part of the forum strangely do not have one unlike other model lexus of CL forums

This vehicle is owned by my brother, CL username plusONEran

Here is a render of where we would like the final product looking like.

We build this car on our spare time in our garage by ourselves with it still needing to be daily driver so at times there were downtimes that needed to be done rather quick so we had vehicle up an running again.

The vehicle is a 2010 Lexus RX450H

Current Mod list
13+ OEM F Sport Front End conversion with LED DRL Headlamps.
13+ OEM Power Folding Mirrors (was literally plug and play).
AutomationLED Conversion Kit.
AirRunner Air Suspension.
Accuair Air Managment.
Volk Racing TE37 Ultra Wheels w/ Continental DWS. (20x8.5 255/45r20)
Vizualogic Headrest DVD.
Vaistech MLP-16 Front AV input module
OEM JDM Door Visors
OEM Lexus Bicycle Rack (not installed yet)

This is what we started with,

Let’s start in the middle with the Air Suspension install. Some things were not documented in the beginning

Some of the parts

We removed the spare tire and we have a blank canvas to work with to install all the air components

How should we do this? This took a planning to figure out placement of everything for functionality and reliability as well as aesthetically pleasing. We first did the trunk setup and finished it before moving to the actual install of the bags and struts

rivet three nutserts onto the floor of vehicle for the wood to mount to later

Between the Air Suspension install the 2013+ Fsport Front end bumper and headlight conversion was done, Some wiring for the lighting needed to be taken care of for it all the function like factory.

had a sample newer vehicle to compare the wiring as well, lol

Video of the Headlights working like it was factory

If anybody is interested in this conversion, download this zip below compiled by me and my brother of part numbers and wiring diagram to assist you.

Back to the air suspension installation Wrapping the wood in black carpet

Laying everything out on the carpeted wood

Cleared and cleaned out the spare tire area, time for final assembly of the trunk

Now that the Trunk setup is done, time to finally move onto figuring out Height sensor placement for the Accuair Elevel system and install the AirBags on the vehicle

Rear Level sensor placement

front level sensor placement of Elevel sensor right at the same location for the factory air suspension level sensor (figured out where it went with TIS technical documents)

complete trunk with all wiring and air hoses done before panels go back into place

Now thats a low RX450h

Tires are mounted on the wheels

And here we have the Volk Wheels on

The Accuair Elevel Controller for the management was custom mounted in the cup holder Left of the steering wheel. Tucks away nicely when parked. And if needed, can be opened just like its prior cup holder duties. It opens and closes like factory with a minor bit of assistance due to change weight balance from the controller mounted within it

Wow your RX is is awesome. I would love to add air bags to my wifes RX but she says she wants no mods done to her car. She wont even let me add a subwoofer in her car. My IS350 different story i have modded it a lot. I kinda want to add air bags to it but its my daily driver not sure how realiable.
