I've got a 2010 RX 350 with parchment leather. I purchased the car CPO in 2013 and the leather looked perfect throughout the car. Then after several months the driver's seat started showing excessive wear, creasing, wrinkles, etc. No tears though.
After doing some research and reading on CL, I'm certain that the dealer had the driver seat reconditioned before I bought it. It looked great and now after 30k since I've owned the car it looks quite worn.
So I did some research for local leather guys in SD and found one. He's coming to my home tomorrow to recondition my drivers seat. I assume that to mean, clean, sand and dye. It's going to cost $149. I know it can be done cheaper if I do it myself but honestly I don't have the time. This guy gets great reviews and I believe he has done work for various local dealers.
I know that it will start to show wear again and that's fine, I don't mind getting this done every year or so if the results are good.
Any way, I'll post some before and after pics up this weekend.
I'm really happy with the results, I would definitely do it again. I'm sure it can be done cheaper but it was a piece of cake to schedule it and just pay to have it done. Took just under an hour.
