Squeaking Noise From RX 450H Dashboard
Hi guys,
I have an RX 450H and noticed that there is a squeaking sound coming from the dashboard. I looked at other posts where people were experiencing similar issues and noticed one post where someone had a GS 450H and fixed this issue by adding felt between the dashboard and the windscreen.
I would like to know whether this method works 100% and whether I can apply this method to the RX 450H. The noise becomes worse when it is cold and especially when the car is being driven over rough road surfaces and speed bumps.

Nothing works 100%. You can always try as attempting to remove squeaks and rattles is more of an art than a science. Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease.

Mine squeaks from December to April, and is silent from May to November. Every winter I played with it, but I just let it be now. I know it's coming from the plastic under the hood in front of the windshield because when it rains or snows, the noise goes away. At one point I had it fixed by jamming a cloth between the plastic at one spot, I then asked the dealer to look at it and they replaced some of the plastic pieces. Didn't fix the problem, and make the fix also not work anymore. The only fix it seems is to keep it wet when its cold. I'm hoping for a rainy winter this year.

I've tried this to a limited degree, but it never made any difference. I'm not 100% sure which plastic is responsible.

I would not want wet felt sitting under my hood getting all moldy near the air intake vents. Maybe try some spray Silicone in a few places to see if it makes any difference. The bottles usually have a tube attachment so you can reach into tight areas.
