Scratched My New Lexus While backing
I just leased a new LEXUS RX 350.
This morning while backing I rubbed my left side against a wooden pole.
That caused my mirror to form a scratch and side with a small bump/fine paint peel off..
I have registered under excess wear and use program which seem to cover it at the time of returning the vehicle in three years.
What should i do now ?
* Am i expected to get it repaired with toyota under the above warranty
* Drive as-is untill next 3 years
Please advice asap.

Is only the mirror scratched? Please post a photo.
Before going to Lexus I would take it to a local body shop or two for estimates.
I think the extra damage clause is for when you turn the car in, but what do I know, I have never leased a car.
However, survival skills tell me that the less the dealer knows about this the better and there is no rush to tell them about it.
Your car will more scratches before you turn it in when the lease is up.

As per Toyota wear and tear policy, following are covered..
This clearly shows scratches, dents etc..

Some mild polishing compound or even milder cleaner/wax combo should improve the appearance of some of the painted areas. Sorry to see the damage

Thanks, hope they repair it with no charge in lieu of the warranty..
But it seems to me I have to live with the dent/scratch for next three years.
I am not even sure if they'd be ok if i get it repaired outside..

Here is my best guess.
I think that will be chargeable damage when you turn the car in. If so you might as well get it fixed now with a collision policy claim and pay the deductible.
The door and fender will need to be repaired and painted probably at least a $600 repair alone. Then the mirror will need to be replaced on top of that.

You are not limited to using a Toyota/Lexus shop to do the repair. Find an independent shop that has good reviews at reasonable prices.
My local Stafe Farm agent recommended a shop that did cash repairs at reasonable rates.

Completely agree with FLYCT. I do not understand how this could be classified as a wear and tear. This is just an accident.

I called the Lexus sales guy
He asked me to bring the vehicle so he can take a look
Not sure if he could do anything
I have comprehensive insurance , will my premium go up substantially ?
This is geico and I have no recent accidents

What you have is a collision claim being it was an accident.
Geico advertises accident forgiveness. Call them and just ask.

Goo luck.

I apologize that I didn't initially read your post thoroughly and I missed the fact that you had Lexus "Wear and Use" coverage. Without that coverage I would expect that you would be charged for the damage when you turn in your car, but with it I would expect that you shouldn't be charged for the damage when you turn the lease back.
The only down side is that you will need to look at that damage for 3 years. That would drive me nuts. That alone would drive me to get estimates and if reasonable pay for repairs out of pocket.
I'm a believer in high deductibles. I only usually insure that which I cannot afford to repair or replace like home flood insurance and high liability coverage.
