Tow Prep Package-do I have it?

If you have the towing package you will have the engine oil cooler hoses that are next to the oil filter. Here is a link to photos. It is the 2 black hoses around the oil filter. Note that if you have them, there is a TSB extended warranty because they tend to fail and destroy your motor as oil leaks out so fast you can hardly react to shut it down fast enough. If you have them, get them replaced with the new metal lines, also seen in the linked photos. To see them lay on your back on the ground and look up under the car near the front center over toward the passenger side a bit.

I looked up my vin at Lexus and it shows that I have the tow prep package. I looked inside the hatch area by the right rear tail light and I don’t see any connector. I’ll have to pull off the bumper cover to see if I have a connector there for trailer wiring.

Can you provide the link to that Lexus VIN lookup?

register here: https://drivers.lexus.com/lexusdrivers/
once you do that log in and click on menu, resources then vehicle specifications. It will show factory and dealer installed options. Click on port or factory installed options. Mine shows “TO Tow prep package”.

There is no need to remove the rear bumper.
On mine to find the hitch connector wiring I had to pull down the cladding under the rear bumper which I had to remove to install the hitch anyway. The wiring was on the driver side and you will find the connector plug up there. I plugged my hitch wiring connector extension into it and wound it over to the Curt hitch. The link below also links to several other related videos that may be helpful.
I do not think there is anything by the right rear tail light.

Exactly what Clutchless said above (he is a very useful resource on this forum). Some additional useful links below to help those installing their own.
Same forum previous thread:

Link to wiring options.

I used the Curt hitch what Clutchless posted above 13143. It was very easy to install once the rear cover (not bumper) is removed. On a different day (didn't arrive in the mail in time) I installed 56083 which required nothing more than crawling under the rear end of the vehicle. If you look up in the hole of the rear cover on the drivers side where the tie down loop is located one can see a plug that is ready for the 56083 extension. I simple pulled off the weather proof cover, and fished the remainder over to the hitch since I purposely cut a larger than needed hole for the hitch to clear through. Voila! I have been towing ever since and very happy. I don't tow anything more than a utility trailer within reasonable loading. Hopefully yours is not different than what I have described.
