A separate OFF button. My '01 RX and '06 ES had one, what happened with our '10-12's?
I totally agree. Turning off the air in the '10-'12 is a pain.

It really isn't:

I posted this solution In July 2014:

Enjoy

Your solution, though helpful, doesn't apply here. The '13-'15 has a dedicated OFF button to turn off the whole system. '10-'12 you have to press the Low Fan several times to cycle down to off. It's quite annoying.

Here's my rant about the AC button:
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-...not-to-ac.html

Each time the temp is in the 60-70 range, I keep taking Lexus product planning employees in vain.
My '15 STi is old-school with a dedicated AC button and Recirc that doesn't change on its own. It is so refreshing to know it does exactly what I set it out to do, no more, no less.

I have a 460 LS.
When I turn the car on the AC does not automatically come on.
I have to press the AC button and then select the degrees - what am I doing wrong?

Ron,
Typical climate control will leave settings as they were when the vehicle was turned off.
Some implementations, such as the RX one in question, will make decisions for you, adjusting settings such as the AC operation and recirculation, which some of use do not want to be changed.
I guess we can call this progress, as this is what most customers want.

I just leave my AC on all the time and adjust the temp accordingly. We always need heat or AC in Oklahoma - there's no middle ground. (And we have used both in the same day. )

Being located in CA and TX., that's probably what inclined Toyota product planners to remove the AC button.
