Question climate control

Sorry for asking a silly question like this but I was wondering...

On the 1st gen ls, when you press the AUTO button for the climate control, why does the A/C button always come on (light up) even if you have the temp set to like 85 degrees. Is the A/C actually on? This drives me crazy! I usually leave the AUTO button on and then manually press the A/C button to make sure it is off.

Yeah, does that in the GS, too. i guess to draw moisture from the air and prevent the fogging of the windows.

If you don't want the a/c on, just press the low, med, or high buttons instead of the auto button.

Yes I know you can bypass the a/c turning on by pressing the other buttons, it just doesn't make sense that the temp is on HOT, yet the a/c comes on with the auto feature.

That is just the way it is.... but I feel your pain. What is even more annoying is that if you have auto on and you change the direciton of air flow then the auto goes off. Auto is always in your face... If you change to face and feet or just feet then auto is turned off. Now that pisses me off. I like to keep my feet warm without having to break a sweat

I agree, it's because of moisture. Mine went on a couple days ago and it was like 20 degrees outside. It came on after having a bunch of people in the car for a while. I just set the temp and leave it on auto. The climate control system is very very good.
