Lexus #1 in JD Powers 2015 Dependability Study
We have a number of current (and past) threads asking about reliability of Lexus and the RX. So I can be a bit lazy this evening and not locate, then update multiple threads -- yesterday, JD Powers came out with their 2015 Vehicle Dependability Study (a 3-year look back at owners of 2012 models)... Lexus for the 4th year is #1. Our beloved RX comes in at #2 in the Midsize Premium SUV category -- with the Lexus GX surpassing us as #1 in that category. Links that get you to the detail follow, as well as a couple of related articles I found of particular interest:

Yep, dependability is the #1 reason I love my Lexi and to-date have put up with some features not being "as good" or "as current" as the competition (like Infotainment). When push comes to shove, I consider my Lexus the most reliable of every brand I've owned in the past 40+ years -- and the couple of times I've had problems, Service took care of me, so I personally don't have much to complain about.
Love-fest OFF
I've had good luck with all of my past vehicles except for my first car in high school which was an Audi Fox (Nightmare!), my 1980 Mustang was a workhorse, never had any problems with my two Mazda RX-7's, no problems with a 1995 Altima, great experiences with two Nissan Pathfinders, and then a beloved 2002 Maxima that was totalled in a car accident. But my 2006 RX350 and my current 2010 RX have been great cars reliability-wise, and I've been spoiled and pampered with these two vehicles, even though the 2010 rides a little too flinty for my taste on the crappy roads around Tampa!
Everyone in my family questioned my decision to buy my wife this car. Their opinion was that the Honda CRV was the more responsible buy. My sister has a CRV. Great car. Great reliability, but not as nice and cozy as the RX. My family comes from very humble beginnings. Purchasing the RX for my wife and newborn was the talk of the family. Articles like this reinforce what my wife and I already know.
Thanks for posting, and also the links for detailed info. Very interesting, and more so, since Lexus top dog by a good margin!
Their score of 89 sure beats the industry average of 147. Noticed some of our competitor brands hanging out around average.
We retired in 2009 and travel full time to seasonal destinations. Dependability for us is very important, along with safety and comfort. So far our well loved RX's since 2009 have been perfect.
