I follow the recommendation of the engine builder unless there are circumstances he is not considering (like tracking my Z06), so in this case 0-20w is called out & the car sees normal service so that's what it gets, I don't think 0w30 would hurt anything for an rx350 if that's your preference.

I too agree 10k is too long between oil changes. After studying some relevant threads at bobistheoilguy dot com which indicate going 10k may not be such a great idea on this engine, I split the difference and change it at 7500 or one year, whatever comes first.

Sounds good to me. I go to www.bobistheoilguy.com also

Just as an aside, I had an oil analysis done by Blackstone Labs on my c5z06 corvette oil 10w30 full syn at 7500 miles and it was still good. I track that car. Usually that one also get 5k oci but went over this one time so I had it checked.

Technically my oil gets changed every 7K since I don't put on the miles.

Nice video. Thanks.

I just want to add that the Toyota OEM filter also comes with torque spec on the box. I know they are not too critical, and most people don't bother. FWIW, I have been using 18 ft/lb for the filler housing and 10 fl/lb for The filter drain cap. I also torque the oil drain plug at 18 ft/lb. In addition, the op is correct that the wheel lug torque is 76 ft/lb. These alloy wheels have lower torque spec than the steel rim. It is pretty much based on the material of wheel as supposed to the weight of the vehicle. My much heavier LX has the same spec also... That said, it is a good practice to torque them again after a couple of hundred mile drive.
