horns in your RX?

I find the horns sound a little too soft; I do not like to honk, but when I do it does not seem to produce much reaction from a sh%th&le cutting me off!

Any one upgraded horns in your RX?

i find the horn more than adequate, compared to a prius, civic, corolla etc.
AND, if someone is cutting you off, no amount of horn can push them away.

i've seen a lot of semis being cut off, and they have far more powerful horns..

 

Louder horn isn't going to stop someone from cutting you off. They see you, and just don't care.

 

try train horn kits, that should get their attention........

More than likely it's a ricemobile with a sound system that's worth more than the car and can't hear you no matter how loud your horn is. Or the reverse and a soccer mom driving with earbuds in both ears listening to her Yogi tell her she is not a loser.

lol Spyder78 is a member of NELOC on CL and modified his GS, he has THREE boat horns installed. Yes he's nuts... Loud doesn't begin to describe it.

Personally I like scaring rude cyclists who think they own the road but don't ever hear me coming when in electric only mode. Tap of the horn will produce some interesting results.

Surprisingly I haven't gone louder considering how much usage the horn gets every week, about 99% for the people who don't signal. Even more pathetic, it's probably one of the few things their ugly butts can turn on nowadays Fortunately I've developed a sixth sense, hand is ready to blast away. I have no plans on using the RXh as a 4,600 lb Japanese suppository. Nope, I'll leave that to someone else.

Funny you mention the quietness of the 450h. I had a cat almost walk right in front of me the other day. I stopped instead of using the horn. She was pretty freaked. So was I.

 

Horn? I haven't heard the horn yet. Let me go out and try...Hmmm. It sounds pretty adequate.

 

I had a Dodge Dart back in the day. People would say "Your car has a nice horn" Nowadays, when I use my horn, I get the finger.

Indeed funniest thread. Having that in mind, I suggest the OP change the pitch of his horn from the standard key of C to the key of F in his personal preference settings. This has been a tongue-in-cheek joke.

I am usually not that angry
I can understand a cat not stopping in front of a RX450h, but "a ricemobile with a sound system that's worth more than the car" ..or "a soccer mom driving with earbuds in both ears listening to her Yogi tell her she is not a loser" -those can irritate me.
So, I have to remind myself: "you are driving a luxury vehicle, behave accordingly..."

NO ONE would cut me off when I drove a 15 y. o. Volvo 850 all scratched and with a damaged hood.
Sometimes, I wish I drove that Volvo and not the RX.

m1964, I know I was a little harsh. I'm just annoyed with the inconsiderate idiots that act like they're the only person on the road and/or are above the law. They woefully forget driving is a privilege, not a right.

 

Geeez... I guess driving is different back east. I can't remember the last time I used my horn.

And to think you need to consider upgrading the horn to better blast away??? Kinda blows my mind...
