Siri
Starting with the 2014 MY, The RX has Siri Eyes Free. In order to operate it, hold down the "Off Hook" button for a few seconds and siri will activate, just as if you held down the home button on your iphone. It's as simple as that and you just start talking to it. In order for it to read emails, that's a tricky thing. I've tried many things and sometimes it works, sometimes it just checks email and reads the subject, then I have to tell it to read the email from "John Doe" or something like that - it just doesn't work as expected reading the full email. Sometimes, by telling it to read the email from "John Doe", it starts reading every new email message. Go figure. That issue is Siri/Apple itself. The only thing Lexus did was integrate it into its speaker/microphone.
It took me a few days to get used to knowing which button to hold down. The "off hook" at first did not seem intuitive coming from an ES, but it's pretty easy once you get used to what button to push. I also notice that the in-car microphone seems to work much better in my new RX then the old ES. My suggestion is to play with Siri when you are at home directly on the phone, and determine the best commands to get it to do what you want. Then once you are in the car, those identical commands should work fine.
