Default Trip Stats

We purchased our RX in part as a vehicle to travel in. We just completed our first trip to Missouri and back going out Interstate 80, spending 8 days in the KC area and then traveling back I40 with a couple of nights in Sedona, AZ. Here are the trip stats:

18 days
10 Beds
Trip Miles 4711
Gas fillup Miles 4544
Gas (gallons) 216.18
Gas (cost) $783.12 - Average $3,62/gal
Trip MPG 21 High MPG 25 Low MPG 20
$0.17/mile gas cost

We were very pleased with the comfort, handling and power of the RX350 and look forward to more trips of even longer length when we both are retired.

It's an amazing road tripper, isn't it? The smoothness and quietness really helps reduce fatigue, and the radar cruise is pretty cool too, if you have it.

No radar cruise, maybe next RX, but the cruise works very well, maintaining the set speed both when going uphill and downhill.

We are just back from the second long trip in our RX350. We are still enjoying the car and purchased it in great part to take long trips.

19 days, 7 hotels/motels and two homes along the way. 4308 driving miles. Too many "breakfast included" dry scrambled eggs and gray sausage mornings. Lots of good times with family and friends along the way. Many adventures and lots of fun and we saw a lot of this wonderful country we had not seen before.

The RX did well cruising along at just above 80 when the speed limit allowed. Hit a section of icy/slushy road in NM and the car handled that well as I slowed down. Most of the time the weather was very nice and we were able to cruise along easily. We both enjoy driving this car, it is easy and comfortable to drive.

4,119 gas receipt miles
20.7 MPG
198.726 gallons
$2.38 average price per gallon
$473.84 total gas cost
$0.12 per mile gas cost

It's really great to read this! I've said many times on this forum, that the 2 RXs we've had are the best road trip cars I've ever driven. It's a great size, easily managing luggage for 2. Just load it up and point it. But what I really enjoy is the comfort and total confidence it inspires, and 5 or 6 hour trips are a piece of cake without arriving exhausted. BTW - We averaged 25 MPG on our last 5 hour trip to Wyoming and back. Speeds of 80 to 85 on the interstate.
