Just in case I'm not the only dummy out there. The Nav. screen can be turned off by pressing the DISP (display) button on the side of the mouse down from the enter button and clicking on SCREEN OFF. Its a feature I had wanted on my Acura. Don't always need it on.

 

Yes it does work that way. I don't always like driving at night feeling like I'm glowing in the dark. Just wish the dash lights dimming button was easier to get to. Sometimes I turn off the nav and turn down the dashboard lights.
