New Hidden Screen on Nav
Hello,
First, I would like to say I have a 2007 Rx350. While I was messing around with my nav I found another hidden screen. While pushing the info button turn lights on off 3 times. This will take you to the Diagnosis menu.
Then press on the upper right corner, upper left, bottom right, bottom left of the screen. A NEW SCREEN WILL POP UP. (Product Diagnosis Menu) The menu contains
1. Drive Recorder
2. Touch SW Adj
3. Calibration
4. Vehicle Signal
5. Soft Version
6. Tel Voice
7. TFT Adj
8. Display Memory
9. SRam Clear
10. BT RF Test
11. Rom/Ram R/W
12. Check Sum
13. Data Logging
Hope this helps someone. IT people get to work and find us something we can change.

No, this screen is different and you access it from the Diagnosis screen which is the one you get when you do the Info button and parking lights. Try it, you'll see a whole bunch of different options - it's a completely different menu. It's also completely undocumented in the Lexus tech info available to the public. Just like the screen with the override button.
There is a black box in the IS. It is documented in the manual, and will tell Toyota how fast you were going, if you were pressing the accellerator, or brake, etc., etc., and only holds the last few seconds (minutes?) prior to a crash. I suppose the law could get it with a suppoena(sp).
Anyone try selecting that entry on that menu?

There is a black box recording everything you do somewhere between 2 minutes and 5 seconds (manufacturer dependent) before the airbags deploy. For real. The data belong to you, but can be subpoenaed in an accident. A number of people have gone to prison for various vehicular events recorded by these devices. They call them EDRs (Event Data Recorder) or CDRs (Crash Data Recorder.) Click here for CDR FAQ.
You can't access this data without the CDR system from Vetronix or the vehicle's manufacturer. I doubt the drive recorder is for this. It sounds more like the storage location for a route recording if you choose to have the nav record a route for you.
