My backup camera stopped turning on when I put the car in reverse. Any thoughts as to why? I'm thinking it might be a fuse issue, but I can seem to figure out which fuse from the information in the manual.
Would be easier to troubleshoot with more information about the problem. Does the screen not switch over at all while in reverse? Do you get a blank screen if the screen does switch over, etc. What exactly is happening.

Did someone prank you by covering up the camera with tape?

HA!
I will have to remember that! My friend taped a diamond ring to his wifes lexus backup camera and watched her as she backed out of the driveway. She got half way down and got out of the car and SCREAMED when she saw it! That was pretty neat!

lol, pretty neat until she forgets to take it out of gear...
I would bet it's a mechanical linkage adjustment issue. Shift column rotates to the "R" position & activates a switch to power/link the camera to the screen. No different than a brake switch, turn signal cancel cam or a neutral safety.

Possibly, or for an even simpler connection, wire connected to rear taillights to power the camera. Lights come on, camera comes on. Ground may have come loose, fuse, camera fail, could be any number of things.

My owner's manual says the camera will not work in extremely cold temperatures. Was that your situation? BTW, what was the solution to the problem?
