Exclamation Ice Storm 2013

Crazy day today. We were without power and heat for 15 hours which we just got back a few minutes ago. 250 000+ homes affected in the Toronto area and many will have to wait up to 72 hours.

The RX took a beating as you can see. Luckily, I had my IS AWD in the garage to go around and take a few shots of the devastation. The IS tackled the storm with aplomb. The trees were not so lucky.

Wow, stay safe out there. Looks pretty but I would not want to drive around in that.

You had a good car to do some emergency driving . And happy for your priority's to C/L moments after your power came back on .

Seriously glad you didn't have any tree damage. That looked like a pretty bad ice storm. We usually get one or two a year in the Jan/Feb time frame down here in GA. Hope it escapes us this year.

corrado, awesome pictures. Bummer about losing power and heat. And yes, the poor trees. I hope you were able to defrost the RX. I'm grateful for remote start on days like that Be safe!

I love seeing the picturers of the cold weather up north. Makes me glad I live in Florida (BTW - it's 80 degrees now (in mid-December). But in the summer you guys have the nice weather - so don't post about your tempertures in August. LOL.

Great pics, hope all is well with you .I'm glad I have a two car garage, Both my RX and my Wife's Is are in it. My kids Toyota Camry ,and Honda Civic are out in the snow and ice(last week's weather not now).

Jealous of your weather. Had that down here in Texas a couple weeks ago. Was wonderful. I hate the heat.

Great pictures corrado!! Please be careful with all of that ice. I use to run restoration efforts for a major east coast utility (sent crews to Canada several times to help after ice storms). I can't think of anything more devastating and dangerous than a major ice storm.

My kids live in Burlington, ON. They were without power on Saturday night but that was the extent of things for them.

All, I'm grateful we have power, though unfortunately 200,000 homes still are out of it, and many till after Christmas. The pics I took are bitter sweet in that the visuals are great, but also show how unforgiving mother nature can be.

wa3cuj, nice to know there are folks like you we can count on for such critical services. We tend to forget or not realize how treacherous it is for those crew members to restore severed power lines in such extreme conditions.

I spent the holidays in Las Vegas so we totally missed the ice storm. Good thing I left one car in my office underground parking and the RX at the park n fly covered lot at the airport. When we got back I couldn't believe the damage (we live in the city) to all the trees and many cars.

Believe it or not, here in the UK in the area I live, we have had no snow this year and its currently 8 degrees Celsius
