Still driving my 2010h, works so well in so many ways but the automatic sound adjustment system is just one of those things that works 'sort of'. My hands are always on the wheel so it's easy to re-adjust the volume there. That everything is working as good as when it was new satisfies me.

The car is as bullet proof as my '03 RX was .

Harleydjce -- Appreciate the thought, but I've tried that, as well as having the moon roof tilted and/or open with windows up and down. Overall noise in the cabin of course is higher when something is open, but the audio does not compensate sufficiently -- especially compared to what I experienced in my 2002 and 2006 Lexi with ASL.

In my case, I ride with the cabin closed 95% of the time, so I need ASL to at least compensate for interior cabin road noise which my 2013 does not do sufficiently enough -- especially on freeways that have varying road surfaces. I've always felt that if Lexus just provided a customer-controllable slider to increase or decrease the general amount ASL compensation, vs having only a single pre-set value that some Lexus Engineer decided upon, would fix this problem (or at least shut some of us up) for those that see this as something that could be improved upon in Lexus' contestant pursuit of perfection.

Bert, I agree. These systems have been around for a long time now and it's hard to imagine how Lexus got it wrong. I occasionally drive my daughter's 2011 Malibu and the ASL works fine. A multilevel adjustment setting has been the industry standard so it's hard to believe that Lexus thought they could do better with a "magic setting." In the end, if there are no hardware malfunctions, it's just a software update and it would behoove Lexus to get this fixed. Its my first ASL vehicle and I was really looking forward to it.

Hi. Just back to say that I am still crying in my beer over ASL. I wish Lexus would just fix it. I bet a firmware upgrade of some kind is all that's needed.

Mine doesn't work and never has. I even persuaded a dealer to change the radio but no improvement. I'm sure that this is nothing more than a firmware update. Not sure why Lexus is not up to it.
