I like the shifter area being done. Did the wood match the OEM?

Thanks for posting the pic.

Default 3RX rear wiper replacement (merged threads)

I may need to replace the rear wiper and could not figure out how to access it because in the OFF position it is hidden by the top spoiler.
Short of turning off the engine when the wiper is in the down position, how is someone supposed to access it?

That's the way to do it. I like like it better having it hidden over the previous gen RXs. Doesn't freeze up with all the snow. The only downside is I can't clean the wiper blade when I wash the 450h.

You can! but carefully and manually. Use outside daylight or additional light to see the wiper and manually brush up the part in contact with the glass.
For the front wipers I do this manually as well to make sure there is nothing (solid dust or particles sticked on.
Howver, after 2 full years, I think that the front wipers need to be replaced by new ones as water is not fully removed from the windshield (100% when there are new).

Can you elaborate on how it's a poor design? I don't quite understand why it's a failure on Lexus' part in their pursuit of perfection. BTW, I replaced all the refills including the rear wiper last weekend. Took just a few minutes and it works perfectly.

Agree with Anita.

Design?I find it quite exceptional: how many cars are capable of hidding this horrible wiper at the back?
response: Lexus and Toyota

Ed, sorry you feel that way, but it 'your' opinion. Personally I'd rather have to take a few minutes extra to change the blade and have it hidden not only from view but out of the weather as this one is. Actually because it's protected it will probably last long enough to compensate for the extra few minutes it might take to change.

I don't even use mine so won't have this issue for a while but doubt I will find it hard to replace. I would rather it be hidden under the spoiler than out in the open. It's one of the things I liked about the 2010+ vs. the prior years. It made it look less like any run of the mill SUV.

I love the design. Its going to last a lot longer then having it out in the open compare to the ones exposed to all the elements.

Anita, did you replace the wipers at Lexus or did you get them at you local parts store. If the latter, please let us know exactly what brand you used. Thanks for the help!

caf, I only use Lexus refills. I purchase them mostly through Sewell online or from the dealer if they're bad. Typically I change them out twice a year.
