Welcome to CL, mkaioh08. It's hard to say if the light is about to go out. One thing you could do is remove the bulb from the other vanity light and switch them out. The bulb size is 194. You can try an auto store or the dealership. Who knows, maybe they'll give you one for free. The tab holding the light housing is on the short side. I used a plastic card to release it. Here's a picture.
So I did as you suggested and it isn't the bulb that's going out?! what else could I try? It's literally if you touch the visor the light will turn off but if you move it again it turns back on?

Maybe a connection for the light is loose (?). Are you still under warranty?
I don't really think it's the bulb because within an hour it didn't work and then it did work and then it didn't work again. Sounds more like a short to me (but what do I know). I did search the forum for a similar issue and found this thread:
But I have a question, when he says "shim," does that mean pry around the edge? I've looked in the manual and I have the bulb size should it need to be replaced and I know the fuse location which I just haven't checked yet.
I can't remember what the factory warranty is. I have 36,XXX miles. I do have an extended warranty to 84,000 miles but I sure hate to screw around with the dealership if it's likely something I can take care of.
Kimberly, you can ask the dealer about replacing the vanity light bulb. You're still under warranty. But if you want to try it yourself, it's super easy. I inserted a plastic card on the short side closest to the rear view mirror. There's a tab to release the light housing. Just replace the bulb and pop back in place. You're done.
Here's a picture to show you what it looks like. The bulb plugs into the circular area. It's removed here.
Been there, done that. Passenger side vanity light wasn't working like the drivers side. Sometimes not at all. Swapped bulbs and still the same problem. Called dealer to order part and had the Lexus Roadside stop by my house (40 miles from dealer) and replaced the visor under warranty.
Its probably not the bulb. Make sure that the sun shade is pushed all the way to the right (passenger side) or left (drivers side) otherwise the metal tabs will not make contact and complete the circuit for the light to activate.
I'm glad the dealer replaced the visor for you. Never thought it could be that. I had the vanity light go out too but it worked after I replaced the bulb. Now you're all set.
