Newbie Intro
Looks like a '10 RX350 will be coming into my life before Christmas. I was actually looking at Volvo XC90's when friends of mine splurged on a new F Sport making their 2010 available. Knowing I tend to pamper my vehicles, they thought it should go to a good home. Mine. Having now borrowed it for the better part of a week and about 500 kms, I'm totally in love with this obsidian beauty. Lets just say the $ deal is a bit to sweet to pass up as well as they had it since new, serviced it regularly and kept it in immaculate shape and me being a recent widower, they are being a bit too generous.
Maintenance costs don't scare me. I'm a veteran member over at jaguarforums.com so I understand that luxury ownership can mean paying for service. I don't mind turning wrenches on difficulty level "B" items and hope we've got some technical wizardry on the forum. I have nothing but respect for techs that work on these machines as I realize that the $ paid at the dealership don't end up in your pocket.
However, from my reasearch so far these do not appear to be real quirky unitsOther than making sure routine maintenance is done I can't seem to find to many out of pocket items that seem to be trouble spots. Those of you with more experience can correct me at anytime but, it's already too late. I'm in love with my obsidian beauty. I look forward to gathering more information as we get acquainted.
I've been a Lexus owner since 1993 and I've not found the cost of service from the dealership to be unbearable. I've done all my service there at 5000 intervals and am always pleased with the results. I think that have a Lexus Certified Technician do the work has some value and that is part of the reason I'm willing to pay a little bit more at the dealership.
