Thanks Rayaans.
I do intended to have it on to protect from flying stone chips, my impression is that it will fly off over the car or will hit the windshield instead of scrapping the hood if the pieces happen to hit the deflector.

Vanson,
It would be interesting to hear your experience with off-roading the rx. Let's face it, Lexus didn't design the RX to be off-roading. They intend the LX and even the truck-based GX for that purpose. I think it's inspiring to see you're pushing the limit of our car into territory outside of Park avenue and paved roads.

The wind deflectors are mainly for bugs, not for stones. The stones MIGHT hit the deflector but its a very small chance. The problem with stones is that they are too heavy, they could possibly hit the deflector and then hit the windscreen which would be worse. A clear bra would be much more suited for stones and bug alike.

The main thing to think about the clear bra is that, yes, they protect the paint work from stone chips BUT when you take them off, u have a rough, stone like effect on the paint due to the stones bashing on the car

I see, thanks, I will just let it be.
It looks handsome enough without the deflector

No it's just a regular RX350 with the sport appearance package.
The rims look at the same as those of fsport but they're bright alum. The real fsport is titanium colored.

My bad - it does state that it has F-sport styling.

Perhaps he modded it?

Own a 2013 Nebula Gray F-Sport in November. Wife wanted it for her to drive. She was used to Volvo Turbo wagons with more sporty suspensions. She wanted an SUV. She still has trouble parking it and getting used to its size. I have driven BMW's and Mercedes. I liked the idea of a sporty SUV, and she liked this model. I think the 8 speed transmission is to erratic and unsure of itself sometimes. I am also not totally confident in handling as I am used to lower slung sedans and with body roll controls. I called Lexus and asked if there was anything that could be done with the software, etc., to make the transmission feel firmer and more secure when it shifts and was told "No." Any suggestions?

I know it has it's limits and I stayed within them. I had to be careful going down some of the trails out there not some much for fear of getting stuck at times but more for my car getting scratched to hell by thorn bushes and the like. I thought it would be interesting to go way out there and keep it mild. The tires on the vehicle don't instill much confidence for off road traction but like you stated it was designed for the mall park lot excursions vice the desert and dirt roads. I'm going to find more trails to go down but I will keep it in check. hahaha

Formerly owned at 2010 RX-350 AWD

1) 3.5L
2) Nebula Gray Pearl
3) BSM, Navi, IPA, Door Edge Guards
4) None
5) Male, 47

Purchased yesterday. Take delivery on Tuesday.. pics to follow I got it for about $60 more than the dealer offered me the base model for. He said they could not move the last 5 F Sport models in stock so they were literally giving them for not much more above cost without even trying. It was a no brainer.

When I asked why weren't folks taking them off their hands, he said most folks hated the stiffer ride... Ha!! Winner!
