40000 mile service

Thumbs up 40000 mile service

Completed the 40000 mile service. Bought all the parts at the Toyota dealer and disposed of the oil at Jiffy Lube.
  1. Toyota Engine oil filter 04152-YZZA1 (Fit perfect) $5.41
  2. Toyota New oil crush washer $1,31
  3. Toyota syn. 0W-20 $7.08/quart
Total (incl. tax): $53.32

edit: Didn't change air filter on 40K.

If I only had access to a lift, I'd do all my maintenance too. Too old now to be crawling around underneath on my back.

i rather pay the extra 20 bucks and have someone do it for me haha

You can change it easily without jacking it up, took me 15 min on my first try. You just need a couple funky tools, $20 at Amazon.

Also the rate for the Toyota 0W20 is below $4.60 a quart now! It came down in price

Not too shabby.. I still don't trust those quick lube places. Too many horror stories.

Are you SURE that is synthetic? I have never seen it below $5 even on a sale for $10 years at that price?????

When I check Sewell it comes up at $6.75 even with our discount.

5 qrt Mobil oil at Walmart is around $26.00 now, check it out.

Personally I am tired of oil changes AND waxing; mine will go in at 20K for oil change, hand wax and complete detail for about $150 at Longo Lexus...great service,,,,,and yup,,,free cookies...lol
