If it works LMK! I'm def up for trading out my Universal for BT via android!!
Looks like these work on the 2006 3GS too!
Well the tech at vais did confirmed this device will work on all 3rd-GS with or w/o nav- even ML system as long as u have bluetooth connection ! Im just not sure about the audio quality tho
i have not done the sl3b yet so i can't confirm on the quality, but i know vaistech never had any BT units because they were never happy with the sound quality of previous units, and they said they finally came across a good one. so i personally have good faith
I have it! I installed the unit las week, the sound is really really good, I really think the sound is better than the old iPod I had connected before. When I called vais to place the order he mentioned that the sound is digital, that's why I purchased it.

Anyone have any more detail on how this works, please?? I currently have the BT35 Bluetooth unit (the unit is a separate Bluetooth that my android connects to for streaming via the CD Changer Mod. Phone calls continue trhough the car's normal Bluetooth connection). But My BT35 won't show song titles on my 06 GS430/MLev.
Wonder if this connects in a different way, and if it is song titles/text compliant?
the instruction should have most of the info you need. the sl3b also has its own bt connection with the phone that's aside from the phone connection with the car. from the manual, it seems like it will show song details. from my discussion with vaistech, if you use idevice, for sure song details will show. if you use others, it depends on the device but i *think* most android will have info (someone can confirm)
I have just installed the Sl3b in a LX470 (Gen 4 Nav). The sound is great - brilliant. So they got that right! I'm streaming from a Samsung Galaxy S3. I can use the phone as per normal and the audio bluetooth works right alongside it. Pairs every time.
If I use the built in media player I get song title and artist on the nav display and can use the steering wheel controls etc. I'm also streaming using Spotify and although I can use the steering wheel controls, it does not display artist and song title. No big deal for me. I can hear high quality music and use my phone to select playlists.
