What mods can we do?
New owner of a 2012 350 in nebula gray and black interior here! Went with the RX over the MDX at the end of the day and sure am glad we did!
Just wondering, what sort of mods are common for the car besides lighting? Anyone paint their the cross bars or chrome trim gloss black?
Out of the box the car is pretty nice already, but just wondering what you all have done. Thanks!

I made three mods: 1) added a license plate frame on the back license plate (no front plate); 2) went with black floor mats instead of the stock dark grey; 3) purchased a sun shade for the front window for parking on the occasional hot day.

Haha ya the reason I ask is usually cars have a basic set of mods everyone does. Painted reflectors, swapping chrome for black or matte black. Haven't seen anything obvious to change on this car. Maybe it's just best stock!
The exhaust is kinda wimpy lookin' and the front bumper is a little high, but not sure those can really be changed to look clean.
Maybe slap on some wheels and call it a day.

To each their own, however, it's WELL done as far as fit and finish. No matter if you agree or not with the choices (I do not care for them btw) you have to appreciate it isn't some primered eBay POS that someone stuck on with duct tape and some plumbing caulk while painting it with a spray can.

No, I don't play soccer!
Welcome to CL jtown and congrats on your new RX350.
As far as mods, it all depends on what you want to spend. Rims are probably be the easiest and have the biggest impact visually. Body kits for the RX go from simple to over the top. Not too many members here go that route. Pass on painting the rails and chrome around the windows black. That's what the 2nd gen RXs have. You're better off removing the rails and leaving the chrome. Other things to consider, door guards, mud guards, new grill, JDM visors and license plate frames. Maybe debadge the tailgate. I would add clear bra too though it's not technically a mod.

I had yellow fog overlays, but the fogs started to burn them, so I peeled them off. As it stands, my truck only has 5k LED city lights. They don't match the factory HIDs at all, but nobody sells a 4300k LED 194 that will match, unfortunately. If anyone finds one, please, let me know.
I'm planning on tinting the front and port windows to match the rears some time soon.
I'd like to black out the chrome on the window trim, but I don't have the time or the patience to do it myself and I don't feel actually having it done.

If I was handy, I would FOR SURE do the full interior lighting mod. Or if there was a place I could trust to do it. The lights are too dim and should all be LED. About my only complaint on the car

Are you capable of doing a zipper up on a jacket no matter what side the pull tab is on?
Do you own a small flat screwdriver or even a butter knife?
Are you able to put the lid back on a soda bottle while walking?
If you answered yes to two or more of the above questions then you are more than qualified to change the interior lights to LED's in your lexus.
It is truely that easy. Just pop off the cover, unplug the light and insert the new light. The only thing you need to watch is LED's cant be installed backwards. They have a positive and a negative pole. If you install it and it does not go on, pull out and put in the other way. Thats it.
I look forward to seeing the pictures of your success.
