I guess the 3rd gen sure has a lot more brake dust than our old 1st gen. Or was that because of break in? We just cleared 1k miles. Just applied Wheel Wax on the 19's. Let's see if that helps. They dust almost as bad as my BMW.

Brake dust raises hell with untreated wheel rims.
The only thing to do is keep your wheels clean.
Once that brake dust takes a hold of your rims, it's hard to scrub off,
like bird droppings.
Brake dust on an RX is nothing. Lexus uses a very soft pad material on the IS line and many people complain about the brake dust so much that Lexus offers a harder pad for those folks that don't like to clean their wheels. Never had any brake dust on our RX to speak of.
Sonax wheel cleaner is what all the pros in the detailing section use for their wheel cleaning. Then give them a good treatment.
I have not really noticed much brake dust as of yet but then again I have only put on 1200 miles or so.
We must have different pads then as we have the exact same mileage. We do live in a hilly area so that may add to it. It's enough dust where if you run a finger on it, its obvious enough.
It was very easy to clean off but surprised on the amount.
I had a first gen RX, the RX400h and the 3rd generation and never had an issue with the brake dust. It was a big problem on my 2008 IS but LEXUS did a recall and it's fine now.
Brake dust? What brake dust? Sorry, it's virtually non-existant on the 450h.
Sonax like Jairus mentioned is the best for tackling it. Spritz on cool wheels, watch it turn from green to red (2-4 minutes), clean with microfiber or brush, and rinse thoroughly. It'll make the rotors a little rusty looking but that'll fade with braking. Applying a good wheel wax should make it easier to clean the next time.

Plus one on what Anita said, although my bottle of Sonax sits unused. At least unused on the 450h.
