Default Extended Dash Wood Upgrade Kit

Hi -- I took my 450h in today for service and the dealer had a 2012 450h with the "rest" of the dash upgraded to wood -- mine already has a fair amount, but they had done a dealer upgrade to add lots more wood panelling, like around the nav and all over.... they said it was $795... has anyone done this themselves? I would imagine i could purchase the same kit somewhere for much less and do it myself, but not sure.... any advice would be appreciated. thx.

So you are talking actual replacement panels or the overlay?

I picked up my 2012 last week and they had a Hybrid in the showroom with that hideous stick on wood, I personally think it takes away the elegance of the car.

i thought they were actual wood panel pieces, not stick ons... i'll have to give them a call and find out... i rally don't think they were stick ons, if they were then either i didn't look too carefully or they sure fooled me... i'm pretty particular, so that would really surprise me... maybe something like this:

I had a dash wood kit on the 300 installed by the dealer as an option. While it matched the rest of the wood, it did fade over time And it was stick on. Price, $700 in 1998. I'm sure it'll cost much more today.

Nice work although the steering wheel wood seems to be off but I will assume that is the camera flash playing tircks. It's just a tad overkill IMO for a Caddy. Bentley maybe, but Caddy (or even top line Lexus) no.

I think that looks terrible. The wood is supposed to accent the car not take it over and scream at you.

It's like I would be driving an oak wardrobe closet

I think putting in an oak hardwood floor instead of carpet would nicely finish off the Caddy...

Along with privacy glass and steam vents for a Sauna (and I'm not even into the wine yet).

In all fairness it would be better if we had a picture of the wood kit on the 450h. The Caddy is a poor example since the dash layout is completely different. From my experience on the 300, the extra pieces looked like they belonged in the car. It was around the front vents, console, gear shifter and radio. No wood on the steering wheel though.
