Default Can You Guess What Was Wrong?

My wife and I were parked in front of our friends house with our 2012 RX 350.
She's says lock it up, I'm leaving my purse in the car.

As I was walking away touching the drivers side door handle to lock it,
I got a continuous buzzing from the RX like it's telling me something wasn't right.

All the doors were closed, but the buzzing continued.

Can you solve the mystery, and tell me why the buzzing continued ??

Good Luck

I feel like this is a quiz There are two times I know the RX will let out a long beep. The first is when a door or the tailgate is not fully closed and you attempt to lock the doors. The other time is when the RX is left on or in accessory mode and the doors are locked. But it will be preceded by three beeps indicating key not detected. A message will also appear on the dash. As far as the sunroof being open, the beep comes on after the RX is turned off and the door is initially opened. It's visible on the dash too. The long beep doesn't happen when the doors are locked though.

Check if the other key fob was still in the car. If you leave the moon roof or one of the windows down the car will tell you when you turn off the ignition. My wife has a habit of taking her keys and leaving it in her purse.

1. You had not turned off the car.
2. Your wife had your key and was out of range and her key was still in her purse.
3. Both of your keys (or your single key, if you had only taken one) were in the car.

BINGO!
We have very smart RX 350 owners on this forum.

YES, my wife had her fob in her purse while the RX kept buzzing.
Funny thing, I was laying in bed that night and just like that I happen to thing her fob was in her purse.

What wasn't funny is I ask her were she had her fob in bed that night, and woke her up from a deep sleep..........................I can't print here her comment.........

Our other car is key less also. Several times I have put the wrong fob in my pocket and my wife and I go out. After parking we both get out and I can't lock it. I then discover I have the wrong fob and I was driving with my wife's in her purse. This could be serious if I dropped her off somewhere and continued on. Once I shut it down I would have no way of starting it up.

I keep the credit card thing in my wallet so I can always start and lock my car. What I have found though is that I dont need to carry car keys anymore so often I leave the house, do my thing only to come back and find out I have no house keys. Had to put a pushbutton lock on the garage and hide a key. Inconveniences of modern conveniences.
