Please don't confuse these plastic trim pieces with actual skid plates. These are just for show and do nothing to protect the underside & drivetrain of your RX should you take it off-road. These trim pieces seem to be very popular with Toyotas these days. Here's one on a new Toyota 4runner Trail Edition:
There's a similar one on the rear--only for show! Our silver 4Runner has these, but they are almost the same color as the paint--hard to see.
IMHO, a rattle-can of silver paint could achieve a similar look if one gets creative.

Yes, I know it's not capable of handling off road elements. I have never or will never take the RX off road, this will be purely for cosmetics. IMO, it brings a nice subtle change to the front end by removing the high space between the front bumper and ground. But after discovering it was $600+, I think I'll pass on it.
thanks , I was in BKK and unable to catch up with the post ..
I got the parts from SEWELL .. Plus another 500 USD to ship to HK ..
Being from HK .. I do avoid order stuff from China , might not agree by the Local Lexus warranty ..
Its not supposed to fit the F Sport models. Its only for Luxury versions. The rear skid plate will fit all models but the F Sport's have a separate skid plate which fits underneath the black plastic instead of on it

Yes they are the front and rear under runs available in the UK and Europe. They cost about £400 for the front and £250 for the rear. So in dollars thats about $600 for the front and $380 for the rear.
HOWEVER, the 2013 facelift models have a different front under run. The rear one is the same for all model years.
Below is the new under run for 13 MY:
Its very tough plastic, no chance of breaking and its really just there for aesthetics. It just makes it look much better IMO. The new front under run has a wider section of silver plastic to match with the wide spindle grill.

I LOL'ed when I saw what he was referring to as a skid plate! I was like 'Wow.. the RX's have skid plates????'.... 'Oh, he is talking about the air dam... LOL'. No offense to the original poster... it just gave me a bit of a chuckle. :-) Maybe we have air lockers that I don't know about also? Do you think that "skid plate" would hold a winch? LOL!!!!
