^Even if the accident wasn't your fault, your insurance still gives you an accident points and I think it's there for 3 years.
You are correct. No more discount for me for the next 3 years if i don't have any more accident. That's what my insurance told me. Sux.
Anyway, I just updated the pix with my new thread.
Hope you got lose of value for you car because it is now worth less used than before the hit and run. You do not want to get screwed a second time over this when you sell the car. Car fax will hit you 1 to 2k on this deal.
Did you file the accident through your own insurance? Or through the other kid's?
I notified my insurance company and they subrogated to recover the loss of the vehicle through the kid's insurance.
Luckily, the kid was honest and admitted running the stop sign. If he hadn't been honest, it could have been much more difficult since no one stopped to say they had witnessed anything, and this was a pretty busy road even though it was only a two-lane road.
I thought i had to pay 500 deduct first then my insurance will try to get the other insurance repay me. However, when i picked up the car, they just let me go w/o asking for $500. 3 days later i saw (online) my insurance pay full to the body shop and trying to claim everything back from the other insurance.
