Per the Edmunds car maintenance schedule, it shows that the differential fluid is to be changed every 15,000 miles. You need to check with the Lexus maintenance schedule (or contact the Lexus dealer). On Edmunds, it estimates the cost of fluid as $ 10, and labor as $ 25.
$10 for the fluid and $25 for labor? Edmunds must be living in dream land!

So true! I could not help resist laughing.

What is missing are charges for the shop supplies [gloves, rags, cleaner etc], crush washers for drain and fill, and disposal fee for the drained oil.

If you can walk out by paying less than $100, I would say you got a deal.

Can anyone tell me what the manufacturer recommends?

Thanks
The rear diff oil in the RX350 can go well pass 60k miles before even turning dark(or dirty). However, I would consider changing the fluid every 60k miles to keep the rear differential well lubricated.

GS which is a rear wheel drive, I replaced the rear diff at 60K miles and it looked totally fresh. I feel the for normal street use, the drain and fill is to drop out any sediments or metal from rubbing of gears.

I chose Redline gear oil product. My RX are front wheel drive. My 450H needs transmission fluid in the CVTesk and not gear oil.
