Default Synthetic diff oil for 93 GS good idea?

Hi,

I have a 93 GS300 with 159K miles. I am about to go for a brake pad change, oil change, etc. I want to also change the rear diff. fluid. Lexus does not sell it. I now have two options. Either get regular oil or synthetic. I guess I am looking for input on wether or not it's safe to put synth. fluid in my differential and what potential problems, if any, might synth. fluid cause?

Thanks in advance,

Ed

I used Valvoline DuraBlend Synthetic Blend gear oil (part #280) in my SC's diff with good results (i.e.: no leaks) so far. There are also positive posts on CL of those who put in RedLine or Royal Puple full synthetic oil in their differential.
