Power rear hatch and locking doors.
I love the smart key, but the one thing I don't like is that I cannot lock the doors on the RX 450h when closing the power operated hatch without hitting the lock button on the hatch. It is a bit of a pain, not the end of the world pain, but a pain none the less when you use the power close function of the hatch and have to wait until it is latched to then hit the lock button on the hatch. If I carried the key fob I guess I could lock it that way, but that defeats the purpose of the smart key. Is there a setting for the doors so that they remain locked when opening the hatch? I suppose there isn't because I'd still have to lock the hatch after closing it. Did I just answer my own question. This one thing I miss from my IS350, opening the trunk didn't unlock the whole car, whereas opening the hatch on the RX 450h seems to.

No, I don't play soccer!
Aloha Benny How was Hawaii?
You're lucky you get the smart key. It's an expensive extra here in the states. As far as locking, it's not a big deal to hit the little round button to lock from the tailgate. I know, not convenient, but not exactly difficult either. The tailgate on mine is programmed to open automatically when the long button is pressed twice - first press unlocks all the doors, second press opens the tailgate under power. There's no way to get around unlocking all doors to open the tailgate. That's ok. I don't take out my key fob for anything besides remote start.

Aloha Anita. Hawaii was amazing but being home is good too all except for the cold. I love the smart key because it just stays in my wallet. There aren't any buttons on it to open or close anything so I would then have to have the key fob in my pocket too which would defeat the purpose of the smart key. Because of your prior post I too got my dealership to program the hatch button to power open with a double click. Too bad the close button on the hatch can't be programmer to lock the car up with a double click too.
