Like everyone mentioned - depends on the scuff. I just picked up a 2011 450h obsidian black. When we picked it up it was night - we did a full inspection visually, but the next morning it was apparent we'd missed 2 small scratches in the clear coat that it looks like the dealer had tried to buff out. All they'd ended up doing was dulling the clearcoat around the area. I picked up some Meguiar's Scratch X 2.0 and was able to not only fix the dulling, but also buff out / conceal the small scratches. Great stuff for small localized flaws.
