Evil passenger touched cigarette immediately behind and left of wood-like trim on top of padded armrest (2010 RX350). I have attached a photo. My mechanic friend says he thinks it's a separate part not requiring the entire assembly. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I've looked at several parts sites, but the illustrations don't single-out the padded top. Any help with a part No would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Just for added "flare", I took my 2011 RX350 in for inspection and the driver's side door was ajar when lifted which bent the door frame upward to the point of preventing closure. It was a group effort (me included) so, I hate to assign blame to the shop. The mechanics tried straightening it out with gravity and closing on wood blocks, but it's still out of shape. Although I shouldn't have been in the vehicle when it happened, the mechanic is offering to fix it it I drop it off for a day's work. It's leaking air now, and I don't expect this to subside with his repairs. It's only got 190,000 and I'm not ready to trade it in, but I think we'll need some foam sealant. I was planning to keep it for at least a few more years. Does anyone have any recommendation?

A body shop can fix this as they have machines and skills to bend things back into place. It happens quite often that shops misplace lifts off of the proper jack points and bend the area around doors and rocker panels. Body shops have the ability to straighten them back.
I wonder if this regular car repair shop can manage a proper repair and door alignment.

I'm surprised your mechanic would not know where to put the front lift point. its so obvious that any competent mechanic would know. some pictures of the damage would be interesting. somehow, I think something else occurred that didn't involve the lift point. The back pinch welds are another story, less obvious and I could see where one might place the lift elsewhere.

There is a front crossmember as well as a rear crossmember on these RX350 models. The center of those crossmembers is where I place my floor jack. Works for me....

I lift from the rear diff or from that cross member that's super deep in from the front. I have never had an issue.
