Default Trailer Wiring with tow package. Need Help Please

i have a 2010 rx350 fwd with tow package and bought curt hitch with wiring pig tail. simple install, but the harness does not work. checked fuse and it is okay. etrailer says some models have to have the trailer harness activated at the dealer. anyone heard of that? anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance.

This is cut and pasted from etrailer, com
"Tech Tip: Some models may need to be programmed to accept wiring harness. This must be done by a dealer."

I suppose that you checked the connection good. There is a cap or cover that has to be removed, but It probably won't snap together with that left on. Anyway, I'm going to get the same hitch and connector soon. Let us know what the problem was when you get it solved. Thanks.

Default Turns out FWD models do not have the relay!

Turns out FWD models do not have the relay!

Went to Lexus Tampa and they charged me 111.00 to figure that out. Don't know what I am going to do now.

What??? Why would it be a "tow package" and not have the relay? That is ridiculous. I will get with my dealer and try and get that for free if it is needed.

I hope that your dealership doesn't know what they are talking about. I've read a lot about the hitch installation on other threads here and no one has mentioned this problem.

Actually on the first page of this post it mentions that the FWD does not have the relay

Post is called "Trailer hitch on 2010 RX350"
Quote "Do you have a Front wheel drive or AWD model? I was told by the dealership that they do not make a hitch for the FWD model yet, and that they only have the AWD model in stock. They also said the FWD model required a relay that the AWD model already has in place."

Please let me know if yours has the relay so I can tell my dealer
