Default Just got my RX

Greetings fellow owners,

New to the forum here and I just picked up a 2011 350awd. Loving it so far. I'm curious to know if anyone put a clear bra on their car by themselves before?

How much are people paying for their '11 350 awd with comfort, premium and nav package? I am getting mix reactions on what I paid. Its starfire with black interior. I talked them down to $42,000. What did you guys pay?

Congratulations on the new RX. Mine is about two months old now and we are happy with it. As for the price go to truecar.com and put your specs in and it will tell you what people in your area are paying for it and the invoice price. Hopefully you got a good deal.

Congrats...great looking car. I have the 2010 but checked out the 2011s while at the dealer. This forum is a good place to discuss the various features/peculiarities. Enjoy the car.

I had the clear bra installed at the dealer by an outside company and it came with lifetime warranty. I wouldn't even attempt it myself.

I did it on my 07 Matrix, the hood and mirror weren't too hard, but the bumper was a killer, never made on the car. Went with the dealer on my '10 RXh.
Little bit of advice, if you are doing it yourself, it's best NOT to do the installation under 50 degrees. Also, follow all instructions on the kit.

I've watched the Clear Bra installed on both the RX's I've owned. With that in mind I'd never attempt doing it myself. There are just too many tricks in doing it based on experience learned after many installs. For the bumper, hood, and mirrors, expect to pay around 450 to 550 dollars. It will be money well spent for a quality job to your quality Lexus.

If you do the Clear Bra make sure you get the 3M film it is the only one with a clear coat that you can wax like paint. This means the surface will shine like your paint and not look like plastic.

is that a Ray Catena badge on the trunk door? Is it mandatory they put their logo on all their cars or are customers allowed to opt out of them?

It sure looks like a badge from Catena. My dealer doesn't put anything on my car except for the dealer frame. It has been off for a while and replaced with Prestige license plates. Just this morning I saw a Jaguar XK with huge frames from a dealer in PA, the kind that can get you in trouble around here. It made the car look so cheap

yeah i dont like those dealer badges. for me i agreed to the dealer plate frames since they arent too bad looking because they are silver and looks good on obsidian.

Never can understand people who will drive around with dealer frames on their expensive vehicle which are often impecabbly maintained and polished. You'll see expensive Jags, BMW's, M-B's, Audi's, et al with cheap chrome frames with some car yard emblazoned on them. It's especially bad if the vehicle is pre-owned and you'll see an Audi A8 with a 'Jim's Used Cars' frame on the back. At the minimum go naked, or just go to Walmart and buy a plain, chrome frame for under $7.
