Today I had my rear hatch opened for few minutes and started the 350. As soon as i put my car in gear, i notced that the hatch was opened so I pressed the inside switch to close it. All I got was two beeps and the hatch fail to close. So I got out and press the button on the hatch but no luck. It seems all switches including the remote fail to close or open the hatch. Anyone have any idea?

 

Well first, the button inside the car will only work when the car is in Park. Usually it can enter what I call "error mode" which often happens when it is closing and hits an obstruction. None of the buttons at this point will work unless you manually cycle the hatch by opening and closing it by hand. Everything should be "Reset" after this.

 

@RXSF> Thanks for the reply.. I'm on manual mode and now the question is how do I reset?
I've tried opening and closing by hand with key on and off. no luck still 2 beeps and not working remotely.
Do i have to visit the local friendly Lexus dealer or is it something DIY..

 

Do you have the automatic rear door feature activated?

There is a switch in glove box to turn it on.
