Hate to say sometimes they're clueless. You'll probably find out sooner than him
Over the last 4 years or so I've found that Lexus salesmen have become very Chevy-like at two dealers I know well.
Also found sales staffs and managers change pretty often. My dealer has had 2 changes in 4 years and both my salesmen and sales managers I've bought from are gone.
I hate that.I like dealing with the same people.
They seem to be moving around. Most of the people at my dealer are still there but there has been some movement to other dealers.
Retail whether cars or most anything else is a ruthless business. I'm twice retired, once from the retail end of the car business and once from the Navy. I can tell you that when sales slump for more than 60-90 days without a clear explanation, the General Managers protect their jobs 1st by moving out the sales manager (thinking he must not have been on the ball). Usually though the sales manager will move out those 'sales associates' that under perform over a given period of time and/or show a lack of initiative to improve in order to validate their own value to the company.
When there is a clear shift in market preference to what the buying public prefers, good sales people that don't have a winning product anymore will start getting cozy with sales managers that have a 'desired' product. Just the nature of the business.
