Default Funny Voice Recognition Story

When I was first learning my RX450H voice recognition, I read that one could speak full sentences and that the system would pick up on key words. So I was playing around with seeing how it would respond. At one point, I decided to push the limits and asked the nav system to "take me home b*tch". Of course, it decided to put me in my place by responding "Jewelry?".

From now on I'll treat my nav system with more respect.

Two weeks after getting ours, my wife and her friend and I made a trip to FL. We stayed with friends and the 1st night I drove when we all went out to dinner. On the way back I was demonstrating the NAV to our friends husband in the passenger seat. There were three ladies in the back each telling me a phone number to call. I hadn't hit the connect button on my phone (I've fixed this problem) and couldn't figure out why it wouldn't dial and the NAV lady kept giving instructions. I finally yelled, 'Shut up B**tch'. All three lady's in the back thought I was yelling at them, and the NAV lady kept up whatever monolog she was on. It was a frosty evening in July that night

Ouch. You got there from a different path. But the lesson learned is still the same. Treat your voice recognition system with respect.

At least she listens to you guys. For me, voice recognition is useless. My SA has the same problem.

What happened to 'I am Woman, Hear Me Roar' ???
Sorry, sometimes I just can't help myself

Truthfully tho; I've found a lot of the issues I used to have are from the location of the mic. If you just annuciate as clearly as possible and talk 'to' the mic above you, it does make a difference. A lot of people move the seat way forward and their head just may not be in a good position for the mic to hear them. I wish there was a convenient way to move it, maybe even to the center of the steering wheel.

Well Jim, I tried voice recognition again yesterday. The first time it appeared to work but that was it. I tried a bunch of voice commands and change the tone and volume of my voice. No dice. I'm getting sick of her 'pardon?' I might just turn the b*tch off and install the PS override. I'm sure 'he' won't give me any problems

Try this test to see how well your speaker is picking up. While driving with normal sounds going on, call your home answering machine. Speak a couple of lines to it, then in the same tone and volume try turning your head just a bit and speak more to the mic above you. When you get home see if you can tell the difference. I was amazed at the difference.

Default Shoulda put the voice command investment elsewhere in the car!

The voice command in the RX 350 is crap, although it's not entirely useless. I did manage to use my phone with voice command, but it's still a hassle. I rather
Lexus swap the voice command for a in-dash dvd player
