2010 RX 350, about 700 miles driven. Loving every bit of it.

Recently I noticed when I apply brakes, I hear unusual sound. I can feel it on my foot thats on the brake. Especially when going downhill and applying brakes. Most often when car has just been started, and not noticeable after it warms up a bit.

My hope is that this is normal, an ABS thing. If not, please suggest if I should take it to the dealer.

 

If it happens after your rotors have been wet and then dried and goes away after you drive it, there can be a very fine surface rust coating that disappears after the 1st or 2nd time you brake. This is normal and happens with most cars.

 

i used to get a mild groaning sound from somewhere behind the steering wheel sometimes when i pressed the brakes or right after i'd let off the brakes

reported it to dealer during 10k service, they said they couldn't reproduce the sound, but it hasn't happened again since that service

if you ever watched the little rascals when they broke in to the school & buckwheat was watchman outside on the steps, he sat on something they made the same sound as i got from my brakes. too many useless memories stashed in my head

 

It didnt happen before, and thats why I am concerned. I will give it some time, and report to dealer during my next visit. The sound at first is like a water bottle let lose on the floor - which eventually gets vague and vague, eventually disappears. Thanks for the responses.
