Serious design flaws with the ipod controls. (nav equipped)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Whether your intension or not, you make a very good point. Vaistech has figured out the iPhone and Lexus has not. Although the motivation is different. Lexus is selling a car and not an MP3 player or adapter and their livelihood does not depend on an iPhone working. Vaistech well....does.
Point well taken, thanks.

imho if they are to put it in, knowing how popular iphone is as much as ipod, they should get it to work reasonably well, otherwise it's just going to get complaints like this. my friend said dealerships have received tons of complaints from people about the ipod/iphone integration
My small dealership only had two complaints and mine does not count since the iPhone is not supported (USB) per the manual.
True, but we may need to consider the design cycle of a car compared to an iPhone. Which comes first the chicken or the egg. Although the sync in the Ford seems way advanced.

The owner of a 'Flex' up the street loves his navigation system. http://www.fordvehicles.com/sirius-ford/radio/
The integration is fine if the passenger is accessing it and is fast. It does pause on the top playlist or folder and starts playing it. Stupid if you ask me.
I have used my iPod Touch on my mom's car with ease and I have a lot of playlists. Yes it does take time to scroll through everything but I am able to access all my songs and playlists.
But this is the reason why I am not getting the Lexus iPod integration for my 2007 IS250, and am glad mine didn't come with one. I'm getting DICE installed today.

The first time I had a loaner 2010 RX350. I had the same problem with scrolling to the top song on my iPhone.
The second time. I made sure I had a long AUX cable extension. Put on a play list and was good to go.
Lexus should fix this problem. Most people who have a USB media device have an Apple product.

I plugged my iPad into the AUX port today and finally have a DVD player in the car.
Or at least one that sits on the open door of the glove box.
However, I still would like to know the difference between a car that an iPod/iPhone works and a car it does not. Or is it the differences in iPods making the difference?
