Default Any way to stop seat from going back?

When you press the starter button to turn off the car, the drivers seat automatically slides back to give you more room to exit. I have a 6 year old in the back of me (and a 2 year old on the rear passenger side) and it gets very tight for her to get out of her seat and the car with such a small space in front of her. Is there a way to stop this from happening?

Probably something your dealer could program for you.

BTW, do you really currently have 7 Lexus'?

Absolutely. You can choose full, partial or none. Unfortunately I'm not near my RX or the manual. With nav, it's in setup somewhere. One thing with changing settings, the car has to be on to take effect.

I am recovering from a total shoulder replacement and the Lexus dealer got me a seat belt extension to make it possible for me to use the seatbelt. It simply plugs into the existing seatbelt catch and then you plug the seatbelt into it. One unexpected effect is that, so long as it is used, the seat and steering wheel do not move when I undo the seatbelt from the extension. Another way to solve your problem!

Seems logical. 7 days a week = 7 cars.

I looked in the manual (wow, who the hell does that any more with a great forum like this!!!???) and it does indeed show full and partial - and none. Partial still does the steering wheel tilt up, but SEEMS to only make the seat go back about half as much as it would on the full setting - which seems to give my kiddo a little more room to get into and out of the car.

RE: the 7 cars: LOL!!! No way do i have 7, thats just the cars i've had in chronological order between my wife and myself. we lease cars so about every 2-3 years we get a new one, and we've gotten all lexus in the last many years. my parents are the same way, combined i think we're on numbers 15 and 16 - two cars we leased on the same day from the same dealer last week...that was one happy dealer!!! cheers everyone!
