Has anyone found the automatic temp control to be problematic ? I have a '10 450h and find that the cabin gets too hot when the fan first kicks on. I have to lower the temperature and let it cool down a bit before resetting it back to where I had it. I used to have a GS 400 and never had this issue in it. I used to keep the temp @ 73 and never had to adjust it because it was blowing too much hot air. Don't know about the A/C. Will have to wait until the summer that.
Not sure if it's just me or are there others who have observed the same thing ??
I have the opposite problem, the heat barely kicks in and it works better in auto mode. Not sure if I should have it checked out or chalk it up to being a hybrid
Anita, your problem may possibly be from running in Eco Mode. This will cause the RX to gain cabin temperature much slower.
Getting back to topic, I completely agree. The temperature control is pretty horrific IMO. I constantly find myself and passengers tweaking the temperature to stay comfortable. One moment its blowing hot air, the next its running the A/C to get the cabin back down to the desired temperature. This cycling drives me nuts. Lexus needs to tweak the s/w and improve on this.
My RX had ever acted weirdly once, when I was driving it on the Highway 105, heading to Baddeck, Canada. The outsides temperature was around 50-60. I set mine around 69, but the passenger side was around 74. It started to blow cold air on my side; and the hot air on the passenger side. Then, it blew the hot air on both side. Then, it blew cold on mine again. The passenger side stayed with the hot air all the time.
Since it's only happened once on my car, I never complained it to the dealer. I guess it could be caused by the ambient temperature insides and outsides the cabin, as well as the humidity at that time, which probably confused the chips/programs insides the RX. Who knows!?

Mark, my RX is not in eco mode which adds to my misery - little heat and poor mileage I decided to have it checked during the 30 day inspection coming up. We'll see.
