I don't know. The RX interior is much nicer than the X5 imho. The X5 drives more like a sports car, but the best SUV cannot match even a modest sports car. The Laws of Physics prevail. I must admit after 180,000 miles over 10 years I may have been suffering BMW fatigue. Still, I really like the RX. I'm even beginning to enjoy the NAV.

My favorite sports car is the Boxter with a manual tranny, but the thing is so darn impractical. I need to go in snow and haul stuff, and I won't buy multiple vehicles.

I enjoyed my X5s, but I don't miss them.

True, the X5 is not too pratical, the cargo area is rather small for its overall size. I think Pratical is the key word here. BMW did not design the X5 to haul big cargos, they designed it for light utility and mainly performance, where as the RX is design with the opposite priorities. 10 years of driving anything, you will get sick of it. Isnt that what most people do, go from German car to Japanese cars or the other way around and go back and forth between the 2. They both have their advantages, thats for sure. Its a shame no one can combine the best of the both worlds.

Amen. If someone did, they would sell many, many vehicles.
