I own a 2010 fully loaded rx, every option avail. bought the car and after 300 miles had to go to the shop because of a noise in steering (they say steering column) anyway its been there over three weeks now and they have no answers. Has anyone out there had similar problems with there new 2010. I owned a 04 and i must say it never in 70k went to the shop. Thanks in advance

After three weeks you would think it would be done ...it shouldnt even stay there more than a week.

I own an 04' and like you said, mine has never been to the shop for anything besides servicing.

Keep us updated, hopefully they take care of you soon

I work in the service department of a Hyundai dealer so this is what I think they did.

They tried to figure out the problem using their own techs and knowledge about the car (not much knowledge since the car is so new though).

They probably delayed calling the tech support for Lexus Engineers to help them over the phone.

After trying some diagnostic over the phone and the problem still isnt fixed. They must now get field techs to come look at it from Lexus Corp.

Once they come out and look at it, then they will have answers for you.

That's how it works at Hyundai (of course we dont delay it for 3 weeks) but that may be the case. Just my guess.

We should not visit this dealership anymore.

Do you call to Lexus customer service center to report/complain this issue? Usually this will help. IMO.

Lemon Laws-look yours up now.

In my state, within the first year, if a new car is serviced for the same problem for 15 days or more I have the right to file a written letter asking to fix the problem or replace the car....

NC? http://www.carlemon.com/lemon/NC_law.html

Why not revoke your acceptance and ask for a refund or a replacement - which, of course, is easier to do if you have in your possession one of their cars - they did give you a "courtesy vehicle" for your use in the interim, didn't they?
Three weeks is a long time - I'd start making some noise, as indicated in the above posts.

Aside from the issue with the dealer itself, and focusing on the problem with the steering, sometimes keeping the car inactive as it sits in the dealer makes on unable to recreate the problem at hand. Especially with steering issues, I have found a vehicle needs to be driven as it would in daily use to recreate the problem.

Sounds right.
My daughter had a '06 IS that had a problem with it's push button start a week after buying the car.
It wouldn't start the car.The car was flatbedded to the dealer and the IS was there over a month.
Lexus techs flew in and found the problem.I believe it was a curcuit board ro something like that.
The first Smart Key problem Lexus problem. The system was fine after that..

May I ask which NC dealerhip is trying to fix your RX? This concerns me as I am in NC too.

What a bummer. Over 3 weeks, and still no resolution? I'd be in touch with every Lexus contact I'd find in the manual and online. Skip the dealership. Just curious, what they gave you meanwhile? Has Lexus contacted you directly, or everything is going through the dealer's service department?

Doesn't matter and it isn't your problem. This is on Lexus and the dealer to work out. Be sure to save all your paperwork and keep a log of all your phone calls with the dealer and Lexus.

Look at your repair order... count out the business days. Once you hit 20, you can file under the NC Lemon Law.

If you're at 20 already... call Lexus Customer Service, insist they buy back the car or give you a replacement. Be sure to mention you have met the requirements for the NC Lemon Law.

FYI your other option is to file a complaint with the BBB Auto Program. Contact info should be in the Lexus owner manual packet that came with the car. Benefit of BBB is that it's free and binding arbitration, so the car manuf must follow through on any judgements.

I agree with all of y'all. You need to ride Lexus's *** for this. Don't let them take their time. They need to buy the car back or give you a replacement. PERIOD. We just bought an 09 RX350 and are test driving a 2010 RX for a couple days. The 2010 RX had a problem with the navigation system. WHO DELIVERS A CAR FOR SOMEONE TO TEST DRIVE WITH A BROKEN NAVI? Man, only in America. By the way, my 2009 RX has 1,500 miles on it and it's in the shop with a dropped transmission. I hope the best for you. I know this stuff gets very annoying to say the least!
