Default HVAC issues

Hello all

trying to figure out some issue with my 2011 Rx

1) the head unit on the dash takes a a couple of minutes to “boot” up
2) the passenger side damper stopped working
3) the ac will not turn on

-I have replaced the logic unit under the glove box
-i have check the Freon levela
-the pump is not cycling or the condenser fan not turning
on

i checked the control relay and it was ok

I have damper actuator coming as I believe I have separate issues

would love any ideas!!

thanks

Matt

Have you checked for codes?
Do you know if the compressor is turning on? If not, see these threads as there is a sensor in it that loses magnetism over time and then it will not turn on. A member figured out that if you place a small magnet on the flow sensor, then you can force the compressor to work again. Some found that after several months this additional magnet recharged the one in the sensor. Anyway, it is worth a shot.
I also hope you have checked your coolant level.

I would take the car to a dealership for a diagnosis.

First thing you need to do is get a small magnet and place it on the compressor flow sensor and hope that fixes it. You can get small magnets at Amazon, or Michaels or Home Depot
The slow boot up may not be an issue after that as long as it works.

thank you!

are you talking about the denso pressure switch?

could the damper not functioning on the passenger side cause the slow boot up?

thank you !!

The flow sensor on the compressor. Not sure what you mean by Denso pressure switch.
Read the links I posted above.
Dampers not working correctly are a separate issue from electronics not booting up. The damper is mechanical and they just wear out.
Do a search on damper for more information. They can be very difficult to repair.
